Bio:

With extensive experience in Early Childhood Special Education, I specialize in empowering educators through Universal Design for Learning (UDL). My core focus involves leveraging visual supports and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to create inclusive, accessible learning environments.

I hold a Masters degree in Special Education from the University of North Dakota and an E-Learning and Instructional Design Certificate from the University of Washington. I have successfully trained over 300 professionals, facilitating workshops at both industry conferences and directly with organizations. My training style is known for being highly interactive, practical, and results-oriented, moving beyond theory to provide actionable strategies that can be implemented immediately in the classroom.

For Washington State, I am a WA State-Approved Trainer with Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) for school aged and ECE training levels 1-5.

  • Visual Supports: creating schedules, task organizers, choice boards, and transition supports that promote independence

  • AAC in the Classroom: introductory Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) principles, integrating aided and unaided systems, classroom implementation routines, and collaboration with speech-language teams
